Essay Structure (Erörterung)

1. Einleitung (Introduction)

- Start with a hook: a striking statistic, quote, or question - State the topic and your thesis - Example: In einer Zeit, in der... stellt sich die Frage, ob/inwieweit...

2. Hauptteil (Body)

- Pro-arguments → Contra-arguments (for balanced essay) - OR: These → Begründung → Beispiel (claim-reason-example) - Use connectors to link paragraphs

3. Schluss (Conclusion)

- Summarize the key points - State your final position - End with a broader outlook or call to action
